What an unexpected pleasure this book was. The writing is succinct yet believable, with dialogue that feels ripped directly from a recording, and plot pacing reminiscent of Stephen King. Never having read anything by Mr. Sojka I was completely enthralled by this tale of advocacy and retribution set in SE Texas. Smith Driskill is indeed a folk hero of for our time- both simple and complicated and a bundle of contradictions.
I can't wait to read more from this author.
