In Payback Jack, Mr. Sojka has created a multi-dimensional protagonist who possesses the perfect level of charisma, cunning, and mystery. The same can be said of the novel as a whole. The story flows easily with brilliant dialogue and a captivating plot line. It expertly guides the reader, using multiple points of view from well-drawn characters, through the layers of backstory, police procedures, sub-plots, and suspense.
